Who is this program for?
10 years old to adults with the following goals:
• character illustration applying Japanese-inspired body structure
• build skills through fan art drawing and original character development
• render poses using grids and lines, shape language and mannequin approach
• translate characteristics, behaviors and emotions through drawing
• exercise observational skills and attention to details
• know how to capture shadows, light, movement and texture
• foster grit, character, and focus
• train the mind and eye to deconstruct and construct when looking at an image

• Small group with up to 5 students per time slot
• High engagement and mentorship from the teacher
• Studio habits and routines (gathering materials, cleaning up, taking care of tools and space, etc.)
• Additional practice may be given to polish specific skills
• Combination of directed (step-by-step) and expressive (intuitive interpretation) processes
• Repetition of exercises to establish retention of newly learned skills and knowledge
• Small group with up to 5 students per time slot
