Oil Painting
A technical course on oil painting and its processes
|
Designed for students aged 13 and above, this program demystifies the complexities of oil painting. The rich, soft, and subdued hues of this slow-drying medium have been used in numerous renowned works throughout history. Think of the velvety finish of Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Vermeer's earthy tones in Girl with the Pearl Earring.
This curriculum simplifies the different techniques, processes and aspects of oil painting--mixing binders and pigments, employing color theory, achieving correct consistency, transitioning values, and applying underpainting, grisaille, alla prima, and glazing. |
