Exploration
An observational drawing course in applying traditional and unconventional techniques
and materials for young kids |
Our Exploration Program provides a platform to build foundational skills of observing, creating, imagining and expressing. Specifically designed for children ages 6 to 11. Program goals are threefold:
1) to train observational skills using the naked eye and the mind’s eye 2) to learn how to plan and compose in traditional and unconventional layout (organizational layout) 3) to let imagination take form and foster an out-of-the-box thinking while learning historically important art movements Gaining confidence in carrying out a task and having the space to experiment and channel creativity are crucial for children to develop at this stage. We start teaching them the building blocks of art then provide tools to break free from convention. Doing so nurtures a mindset that values hard work, consistency, patience and an open mind needed for critical and creative thinking. |
