Watercolor Painting
|
A step-by-step course exploring realistic and expressive techniques
The program is intended for students aged 10 and above aiming to navigate the delicate and timeless medium of watercolor painting. It has undergone several phases, from the famous impressionistic landscapes of Matisse, to the subversive abstract expressionism of O’Keefe. Making use of its translucent hues, create breathtaking landscapes, botanical illustrations, and still lifes.
Students will engage in brief rundowns of watercolour throughout the ages, tackling notable artists and the prominent techniques found in their works while also discussing the medium’s varying usages and materials. They will learn how to treat and prime the ground while familiarising the concepts of granulation, consistency, staining, permanence, transparency, opacity, and lightfastness. |
